1. Amazon’s private label brands are taking over market share

The retailer now competes with vendors via its own products in over a dozen categories, including computer accessories, home goods, pet supplies, grocery items, and more.

2. StyleTribute raised $1.1 million in a series A round

StyleTribute specializes in luxury clothing and accessories.

The startup will use the funding for a marketing push to grow its market in Singapore and Malaysia. It will also look to expand to a third country. On the product side, the company wants to improve its seller app and also add an interface for buyers. The funding came from a private family office in Europe.

3. Lalamove expands to The Philippines

The move comes as Manila, despite its commuting and mobility woes, becomes a new battleground for app-based delivery companies. Despite the jams, Lalamove are promising same-day deliveries for their service, which launches this week within manic Manila. As well as vans, it’s also using motorbike couriers for a local speed boost.
